Sean Smith

Graduate Student

Sean is a PhD candidate in the Philosophy Department at the University of Toronto. His research is focused on the nature of phenomenal
consciousness and embodied affect. He explores this topic through three different but related domains of philosophical and scientific inquiry; namely, the philosophy and cognitive science of consciousness, affective neuroscience, and early Indian Buddhist psychology. Sean has been practicing Vipassana meditation in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin and S.N. Goenka for over ten years.
